Xinjiang's Altay hit by snowstorm

Xinjiang's Jeminay County witnessed moderate to heavy sleet and a
force-eight gale on April 9, which caused much inconvenience to local
residents. Affected by a strong cold wave from West Siberia, northern
Xinjiang's Altay region witnessed the first acute temperature fall this
spring during the period from April 7 to 10. Most part of the region
recorded moderate to heavy sleet accompanied by snowstorm and sand-dust
weather, which obviously affected agricultural production and stock
raising in this region.
