Paris fashion: Viktor and Rolf's cool poise

A model presents a creation by Dutch designers Viktor & Rolf during the
Autumn/Winter 2006-07 ready-to-wear collections in Paris, 27 February
2006.

PARIS - Dutch design duo Viktor and Rolf offered a winter of womanly,
feeling like untouchable poise.
After last season's spectacular upside down, back-to-front display, the
dynamic Dutch pair calmed things down for autumn-winter 2006-07, with
structured dresses and skirts providing the dynamic and drama.
'Don't Touch' repeated a woman's voice over and over on the soundtrack,
and models had their faces hidden by masks of enlarged fishnet, same as
their tights, on day two of Paris ready-to-wear week.
Gently shaped skirts gradually grew fuller and stiffer, building up until
they were crinoline-held, voluminous and paired with a metal-effect
bustier sprouting layered frills.
Sleeves were prettily puffed and short, while a quilted coat had puffs
harnessed right down the sleeve; a fur coat had similar puffs in
descending size for arms.
White cuffs, a silver ruff or large silver flower on the shoulder, big
front bow at the waist or jacket sleeves in elbow-to-wrist silver jazzed
up the look, rendering it less aloof.
