Northeast China's Heilongjiang Province will invest 100 billion yuan
(12.5 billion U.S. dollars) in building roads in the coming five years,
according to the provincial communications department.
The province will upgrade its transport network in rural areas by
repairing and building 60,000 km of highways, an official said.
Heilongjiang aims to link every village with a road and connect all the
towns and 55 percent of villages with concrete or asphalt roads in the
next five years.
It will also build 2,000 km of expressways and 3,000 km of highways
during the period.
